My Mother, Virginia is a beautiful woman throughout. She is small but mighty, don’t let her stature fool you. Mom’s kindness and thoughtfulness toward others has always been constant. Born in New Jersey, and living most of her life here in California, she has touched so many lives for the better. Her spirit and smile are contagious and know that every nurse, physician, front desk admin, and hospital worker loves my Mom for her attitude and genuine beauty. As much as running brings inspiration to others, she has ‘run circles’ around me from her commitment to live her life, be strong, and impact people that are now her friends during this journey. I respect her more than ever for making the choices that impact her life tremendously. It’s been a gift to become closer as mother/daughter and friends since her August diagnosis. She successfully endured the Whipple procedure in December 2012 and has recently completed Chemo/Radiation treatment.
Here’s Mom celebrating her 1 year Anniversary this month!
Thank you Mom. I love you madly. I support any decision you make moving forward. I promise that through running and awareness, your beauty and faith, will go the extra mile!
So proud of Mom this weekend. She and Al spent the day in Orange County, CA at the 2013 Purple Stride event to support and meet others with Pancreatic Cancer. She IS a Survivor and you can see her spirit with Roberta Luna, Trish, and Julie Weiss-our Marathon Goddess!
